Ryan James Bittle Interview

What did you do before Sweet Valley High? - "I modelled for two years in my spare time from school. I appeared in a variety of magazines and catalogues including Vogue. I actually landed the role in Sweet Valley High just one month after graduating from high school. I've set aside attending the University of Santa Barbara to pursue my acting career. I love acting!"
Do you ever get confused with the identical Wakefield twins? - "Yeah, they are pretty identical, ha ha! I've got mixed up a couple of times. It takes you about a week to suss out who's who. Although they look the same they have subtle mannerisms that makes it easy to spot the difference between them."

Do the girls ever play practical jokes by pretending to be each other? - "Not that I know of, but I'm sure they have 'cos they love to play pranks on everyone."
You don't ever seem to do any homework, it's either basketball or dating Elizabeth. - "Yeah, you're right. I guess Todd does let his studies lapse a little. But he's a top student, he can afford to chill out more than the others. He's just come from a prestigious Vermont prep school. His big dream is to be an environmental lawyer. He's smart all right."

Did you have to be a good basketball player to get the part? - "No, not really. I've always been able to play basketball. I didn't have to show my skils at the auditions or anything like that. I actually get the chance to play with professional basketball players which is kinda neat."
Do you have a girl-friend in real life? - "Yeah, I do. She's an actress, she's no-one you would know. People say its like taking your job home with you when you go out with someone in the same line of work. I tend to disagree. I think its good going out with an actress. You learn more - especially if you work together. And they udnerstand the kissing scenes better! They don't get jealous like other girls who are not in the business. They know its just part of the job."

Have you always been a bit of a heartbreaker? - "Oh, I don't know...maybe, ha ha! Ive always been kinda popular. I've had my fair share of dates."
Do you fall in love easily? - "No, not too easily. I have been in love before, kind of. I don't find it hard to express my feelings. I'm quite relaxed in a relationship. I can open up in front of a girl."
Have you ever had your heart broken? - "Not yet fortunately. I'm sure it will happen one day. I haven't broken that many hearts myself."
What first attracts you to girls? - "I guess it has to be looks at first. I like girls with a fun-loving personality who are intelligent and down-to-earth. Sporty and humorous is a must for me. There's nothing I don't like about girls."
How do you impress girls? - "I'd take them to a nice restaurant hang out at the beach, maybe take in a movie. I like to have a laugh on a date. Dating disasters haven't been much of a problem I have to say."
Are you a big flirt? - "Not if I'm with a girl. When I'm with my guy friends...well, hey that's a different story."

Will the Sweet Valley High gang be coming over to Britain for a visit? - "I don't know. I'd love to come. I've never been to Britain before. Have you even been to LA? Really, you've never been here? We should swap! You can and live in my house and I'll live in yours! That would be a cool dude kind of thing to do."
